Hello All: I wanted to let you know some of the meet results from Oklahoma City. Our team, "Texas Diamonds", took 1st overall. Most of our team members set new World Records. I took two first place titles and set a new American and World Record for the deadlift (Sub-Masters 1). I can't remember what the kilo was, but as soon as the results are posted you can check them out at http://www.nasa-sports.com/. The record was set on the third lift, but I did complete a forth...unfortunately, I had one white light and two reds so it didn't count. That is okay. I have a long way to go on correcting my form (use my back more than my legs....VERY inefficient!) and I have only been lifting seriously for three weeks. We will see where it goes from here. Hope you are all doing well! Kym

GREAT JOB!!!!!!! How awesome is that? Just so you know, my very first regional meet, my very first squat I got red lighted on, I was sooo nervous I didn't wait for the judge to tell me to squat! LOL I just flew up there, set up and did my thing. I thought I would DIE of embarrassment! Now, it's just funny! I am proud of you my NASA Sister! If you are doing this good now, think of how good you will be doing in another year! WOO HOO!!! Hugs, Val

Thanks everyone! By the way: I was surprised to see little kids competing at nationals. Went home and talked to my daughter to see if she would be interested in "training" with me (technique mostly). She is soooo excited about it because she has asked to lift weights with me before, but I always told her "No, it's not for little ones". I guess I was wrong. LOL I was just thinking how amazed I am that you all are able to list your workouts and reps. I couldn't tell you what I did on which day!!!...unless I called it the pully thing, with the bent bar, which you lean back and and pull to your chest machine --- for example. [ugh...got a long way to go] LOL TTFN, Kym

That is awesome Kym!!! How different is your life, did you ever think you would be a competative weightlifter. It is great to have the kids get into it, my 10 year old works out with us now, which is good because we gave him some poor eating & exercise habits that we now must change. Don't worry about posting, you can call it a thingy, or a doodad, just never call it a thingamujig.
