Ok gang. Doing a mini survey here. Looking back at before you had your surgery, what were things you would have liked to have known before you went in that you didn't. Was there anything that would have been helpful to you that you had no idea about. I mean, anything. If you want, you can always email me and tell me. And for you pre ops, what are some burning questions that you all have regarding your surgery? Thanks for the responses guys!

RIGHT NOW WAITING TO GO BACK TO WORK...I FIND MYSELF DOING EXACTLY WHAT I DID BEFORE SURGERY.....I GET BORED AND LOOK FOR SOMETHING TO EAT.....AND I KNOW I'M NOT HUNGRY...IT'S THAT "OLD" HABIT RAISING IT'S UGLY HEAD....WHEN THIS HAPPENS...I GET OUT OF THE HOUSE...SO I THINK I WOULD HAVE LIKE TO KNOWN ABOUT THE MENTAL ASPECTS OF SURGERY.....

I know! Those old habits die hard. I still find myself doing that every once in a while. I think that is what I try to talk to people about for surgery. Behavior modification is sooo important. That is 90% of the battle I think. How are you doing?? When do you go back to work? I think Earl is doing pretty good. I had a hard time, but I was working as an L/D nurse. That can get grueling sometimes. PUSH PUSH

Valerie, I have a good friend who is a labor and delivery nurse. It is definitely a demanding profession. I am trying to think about what I would have liked to have known pre-op. I would have to say that I wish I would have known that I would experience hunger, both physical and emotional. It's no surprise, given my history; just maybe there's disappointment. Chris L.
