Newbie and some Questions

- Hello I been weight Training, and Doing Cardio for 1 hour 30 min past 6 months since I turned to the Light side of Nutrition and exercise and have a few questions to anyone who is further out. - With the inherit lack of food calories but alot of protein (100+grams a day) I have noticed that post op I am not seeing any real muscle gains like I did preop and it feels Like I am only toning. - I have been doing more cardio lately and toning instead to compensate but I was wondering when do you guys see more gains? is it when you are over a year out and can eat alot more? - For now I am gonna stick with free weight strength training and cardio but just not gonna expect much... but the fat is literially melting off me faster then I could have ever imagined.

Hey Richard! Welcome! I am over one year out and have just recently started training again for powerlifting and competing. I thin****il you are pretty much at your goal (or close to it) about the only thing that is really going to happen while the weight comes off is keeping yourself tone. I think the muscle gains come much easier once you get to a stopping point. I will keep you posted on how it goes for me because that is what I am trying to do. Not so much to get huge, but to build some mass and strength. You do lose some muscle mass with really fast weight loss. It is inevitable. That is why it is so important to push the protein. Then when you are at a point that you aren't losing, the extra proteing and workouts begin to put the muscle back on. I hope I have helped a little. I am sure Earl will be hopping on with some advice too. He is my husband, and my training guru, and he is 8 weeks post op! There is a good group here! So, hang around.
