Wow thats great thanks for sharing.
Referral-10/30/2018, Orientation-January/30/2019,
Could not start yet another diet - the decades of yo-yo weight loss and gain had to stop; I was now pre-diabetic, fatty liver, feet always hurt, heart was racing - and really, really wanted to be around to see my children grow up and hopefully enjoy grandchildren; I also wanted to be a good example to my boys - showing them what one can do when they are determined!
I was also ready to say good bye to all the fried and sugary unhealthy food - I looked at it all as an allergy to my body, that would and was killing me!
There are so many wonderful items I will still be able to enjoy - but food is no longer my obsession - being healthy and finding new/exciting things I can do with this body that is getting lighter and healthier, that is my new focus!

Congrats on getting started!
A good place to start, if you haven't already, is to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask what the process is. My insurance actually set me up with a bariatric case manager who checked in with me, sent me info, and answered a lot of questions that I had.

So after many many years with coverage that specifically excluded WLS... and a couple of years with a PCP who is not a fan, my Doc has finally agreed to submit the necessary paperwork to get me on the road. I am not entirely sure what the process is and I hope that they will send me some info... but I am looking forward to the road ahead.

I got tired of not fitting in the world and knew that WLS was my best hope to change that. Turns out it took an awful lot of mental health work as well, so maybe I didn't really need WLS.... but I'd never done the mental work prior to WLS so it really doesn't matter!
