I could so have written this exact post when I was in your spot. I told no one I went to the seminar...I was terrified. Even when I went through the process of getting ready there were the two voices in my head battling it out...LOL

I had a plateau that started one week after surgery and lasted 3 1/2 weeks. I lost nothing for that 3 1/2 weeks, I was sure I had made a terrible mistake. The Doctor kept saying 'I am not worried you will lose the weight' .... Fast Forward...I did lose the weight, went through many more plateaus, pulled my hair out figuratively sometimes trying to figure things out... But No regrets...

I couldn't imagine the life I have now. I like to hike. I don't only do it...I like it. At 58 I've started running. Running? I thought that was impossible. I LIKE to exercise. I can be there for my grandkids....

Was it easy? No it was work, and I decided if I was going to do this crazy thing I was making it my job... a big part of that is support online and in real life.... I need it daily, that is why I come here.

I do understand waiting to say something... I had a script in my head. Even though I wasn't totally confident of it and had my own questions and concerns... I tried to be careful who I expressed them to. If people think you are waivering they quickly jump on the bandwagon to question you....

Keep coming back, and good Luck!

Congrats on lowest adult weight! Woop! and maintaining it...

Wednesday is for me my 'official' weigh day... didn't like Monday's weight so waited until today. :) I have been sitting in the low 170's for weeks... not my happy scale number. I consider 170 my 'oh crap' zone.

But then reality- freak out on the scale is really about fear of regain.... reality check is I am still a totally normal weight, not gaining daily....changed my exercise routine- not so much in time length but more in intensity- Personal trainer and running- definitely more challenging.

Been focusing on more veggies, cut out the faux carbs-then last week drastic cutback in cheese consumption- still no movement... finally cut out protein shakes and focused on dense protein and veggies the last 2 days and movement. Yes!

I am really appreciating this young personal trainer (26-could be my son or his friends) who knows his stuff- I don't discriminate against youth... who has my number already and can look me straight in the eye and give me tough love. As in "No" - you shouldn't be doing that.

Highest ever: 420+

Bariatric Consult: 383

Last week: 173

This week:170 - hopefully next week I will be back in the 160's

Maintenance range: 165 +/-

Congrats!! I'm so happy for you!

Whoop**** "submit" without the rest of my post. I'm down to 293 this week, and my BMI has gone from a high of 66 to 47! Normally, I don't put much stock in BMI, but I'll take any number that's going down!! I'm also down to a size 24 jean from a 30. Yay!

That's amazing, Gwen. I have so many "dreams" aka thoughts about what I will do "when" but I love your viewpoint that it's possible i don't even know what I don't know yet. Thanks for that!

And congratulations for all you're accomplishing!

I knew it!! Lol

Congrats! ...it's ok, they're protein shakes...

During college I accidentally became a landscaper and I've gone to school for management and design. I just started with a company that does natural playgrounds. Super cool. It's kinda like the show Timber Kings but for playgrounds. (The company name is Bienenstock if you want to google what I'm talking about.) I'm a "Foreman Trainee" at the moment with the plan that I'll be running sites by June. So I get to do cool projects and I don't have to do any of the crappy stuff that you usually have to do in our industry, which is exciting and they do jobs out of province so I could end up traveling...pretty excited about that too.

Congrats on your goal! When I made my lowest adult weight it was a total mindfuck for me. The knowledge that it was all new territory from there on out. That was crazy to process. My weight now? I don't think I was even 160s in high school, I was probably there in middle school last. It's.. yeah. It's a lot.

And this is one of those weeks when it sucks that this post is always my Monday weight :P I drove to NY and back again with my vegan BFF to see Neil Gaiman. So I was poorly hydrated and ate foods that I don't normally eat. And I spent a lot of time on my butt. Not the best way to go into Monday's weigh-in and the scale definitely verified my weekend of villainy ;) But that's okay because travel weight is never "real" weight, just a blip that soon vanishes.

HW: 319
LW: 163.4
TW: 165.5 (I was down to 162.0 on Friday, OMG)
Next goal: 159.5 - half the weight I used to be. So freaking close.
