Well... I hadn't weighed myself since surgery due to lack of optimal conditions. I finally did it anyway. I normally weigh myself naked, in the morning, post-toileting. On Monday I weighed myself naked, at night, after a day of eating and drinking.
HW: 319
11/5, day before surgery: 154.1
11/27: 153.6
Current goal: still 145 - normal BMI!
I've still got a lot of swelling and healing to do, so I'm curious to see where my weight will settle once that's finished. I have a feeling I'll be super close to my next goal when I am healed, which is awesome. I was TOTALLY expected to see a weight gain when I weighed on Monday, especially since it was at the end of the day after eating, drinking, and not pooping, so I was totally floored to see a .5lb decrease. WOOOO!

Definitely not something I had to do, but every surgeon is different!
When it comes to protein drinks, you want something that is whey protein and not a "meal replacement" as those tend to have a lot of carbs. As to what's best, it depends on your tastes. I prefer Optimum Nutrition Double Rich Chocolate protein powder mixed with unsweetened original almond milk to any of the ready to drink shakes, for example.

Thanks for replying and congrats on you upcoming surgery. My BMI is 60 as well and I am hoping to get that down a bit before the next step. It all helps. I didn't end up with this body overnight and don't expect it to change overnight.
I'm now on day 8 of 14 of the liquid diet, and its not as bad as I had imagined it to be. I kinda like the simplicity of it and I am currently using Premier protein shakes. I am new on this forum but from what I've read, tastes can change.
Thanks for replying, just nice to know that I'm not alone on this journey. I'm on day 8 of 14! I have to say it hasn't been horrible.
So very nice. Thank you. It's so odd how I revert back to that young girl when I am visiting there. I'm proud of the person I've become. Wish she were too. But the only person I can control is me.
