HW 337

LW 212

TW: 212.6

next goal: onderland (I'm getting tired of typing that)

fitness: on target 4x a week. I'm and I'm increasing my weights, since it's been getting a little too easy.

so I'm up a tad this week. I won't call this the norm for me, I have to own the fact that my weight loss has slowed and any eating indiscretions will be far more evident. And after looking over the past two weeks, the gain, albeit small, is me. Good thing is my habits are on the right track now, so my weight will surely follow. I will see onederland!!!

Well I'm up this week, doing 1 too many mids at work & my TOM isn't helping things any. Well at least I'm keeping within my 5lb range. Plus now I'm feeling a little under the weather & want to drown myself in a vat of peanut butter, hey it doesn't count if I'm sick right? lol  My stats so far:

High weight 366

Last week 173

This week 175

Next goal 150's & in the green of a healthy bmi

Spend some time reading the VSG and RNY Boards. Lots of good advice on both of them.... while there are few differences post surgery, mostly we eat the same...exercise...have stalls etc. etc...- the same.

If there is a specific topic you can search that board while you are on it, or use the magnifying glass at the top to search the whole site.

There is also the general discussion board.

We have our weekly weigh-in post here on the BMI over 50 Board.

I don't think there is anything I wish I knew or would have done differently before surgery. The reality is you can't totally pre-plan everything. You learn as you go.

As you progress through the stages of food...I thought this is easy, then I got to the point where I was adding real food- dense protein. That was a little harder to make the transition.

Eat slowly, chew well, small bites, and make sure the food is moist...dry food, eating too fast, or being distracted while you eat can make food get stuck...and that is not pleasant. It is OK to add a little gravy, sauce, or condiment to make sure it is not dry.

I never pureed my food- just chopped really small and added some sauce/gravy/broth. No baby food for me.

Welcome!

There's nothing I wish I'd done, or known before hand-- I was as prepared as I wanted/needed to be.

Welcome!  I'm just one month post op.

I don't have a ton of advice except do what you need to in order to get the surgery done.  I wish I had done this a long time ago.

Good luck!

Well that's a relief!! 16 pounds is just not possible. Glad you were able to use a different scale but you definitely need a new one at home!

I went to the doctor's and used their scale.  It says 284, so my scale's just messed up.  That damned scale...sometime's it's bang on and other times it's just crazy.  Time to get a new one I guess.
