Well I'm still hanging out in the 170's., the high end anyway, lol I've been pretty busy at work, at this time of year they want people to stay past their shift, so while the ot is good, it really cuts into my sleep & I know once the summer is over they'll cite the budget this or the budget that. You can hear the violin music playing in the background. Not much change weight wise, same up & down. This maintenance thing takes a lot of practice! My stats so far:
High weight 366
Last week 178
This week 179
Next goal get back in the low range of the 170's & stay there!

I too weight myself on Mondays: Monday I'll be 6 weeks post op. I was weighing myself everyday and was getting discouraged. Now I'm just going to weigh in every Monday:

Meet with dietician Wednesday. Not looking forward to it. We do NOT get along because she will not answer my questions. She beats around the bush and won't give me a straight answer. There are 2 dieticians in my surgeon's office. Her and the other one giggles no matter what you say. (and I'm paying for this?). If it happens again this time, I'm going to refuse to go bac****il they get some maturity in that office. I mean EVERYTHING I say she laughs at.

I forgot to add... try the Ketosis diet. You can eat meats, good fats, and veggies, as long as you stay away from CARBS and SUGAR! Do not eat more than 40 carbs a day, and it will feel HORRIBLE for the first few days because you will crave carbs soooo bad, but when you go into ketosis, your body will burn muscle and fat for energy instead of carbs. Since we have plenty of fat, we get more energy! I felt great! Just make SURE you get enough protein or it will burn muscle too! Research the keto diet, it worked for me, right before my surgery! :)

If you are 5'1 you really don't need over 1200 calories a day. I'm 5'2 and that is what my Nutritionist recomended. So when I finally stuck to it, and put everything I ate and drank into MyFitnessPal (you can get the app on your phone, its amazing) I finally started to lose weight. (Before surgery)
It WILL help you to log everything. I had NO idea how many calories I ate until I used the app.
Good luck!

A salad with loads of stuff, even without dressing, can be 1500+ calories just by itself. Baked food, depending on what it is, can also be bad for you. I mean, lasagna is baked right? Use My Fitness Pal and track everything for a week. Like people said, you are most likely over-consuming food.
As for which surgery, that depends on you. I'd start by talking to a surgeon about your particular needs.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

finally, a smidgen of movement in the right direction-- I see I have to be totally on point to keep it going -- I'm farther out and see how indiscretions will be blaringly obvious. Accepting that reality is hard-- but necessary. 7# to onderland-- gotta get there by my 18 month follow up.

If you have insurance, see if your plan covers bariatric surgery. If it does, see which surgeons are on the plan. See if these surgeons have seminars (most do). Get information and research doctors and surgeries. You should research vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG), roux-en-y gastric bypass (RNY), and duodenal switch (DS). Do not get a lap band. Too many permanent problems with that one and it does not work for 99% of the people who get one, especially us heavyweights.
You also need to know that surgery is NOT magic. You said once you lose it, it will never come back. Not necessarily true. Unless you make permanent changes in your lifestyle, it can and will come back. I am almost 8 years out. I know many people who had surgery the same time as me who have gained it all back.
Your BMI is 59, which puts you in the "super obese" category. Most likely you will not lose it or keep it off without surgery. Do your research and then make a plan. Good luck.

I think you should first start tracking what you actually eat. It sounds like you think you're eating healthy and not losing weight. That's not possible unless you have an underlying medical condition.
Download an app like My Fitness Pal and start tracking everything you put into your mouth. Be honest. Lying to ourselves about what we eat is what made us fat. Weigh or measure the quantities - don't guess. Fat people notoriously underestimate how much food they eat.
Exercise is good for your health, but it won't impact your weight loss significantly. It's all about the calories, unfortunately. Starting off with an accurate baseline on how many calories you're taking in is a good practice to begin now, and continue after surgery.

I was bummed this week to see the same weight as last week. But had to be honest with myself that I celebrated my cancerversary at a sushi place - had two pieces of sushi and a decent portion of my no rice hibachi grill meal and then ate the leftovers the next day. Plus DH made ribs on Sunday - not the kind with sauce, just with a spice rub. But still, that can't be great calories wise. Oh and I got stuck at a work thing where they ordered Panera and I was in a SUPER stressful situation and I did get a salad and I think I stress/anxiety ate too much of it - it did have chicken on it so yay protein but boo calories there too.
So not going to stress about it, at least there was no gain. I'm just so close to my main goal that I was like NOOOO lol. But I've stuck to it this week.
Anyways - new week, new lows hopefully!
