Congrats to everyone hitting goals and great numbers this week! The hard work is paying off!
I've been trying to ignore the scale but it just sits there staring at me and I cave. I don't want to move it out of sight because I need to work through it rather than avoiding it. Anyway, I was 4 weeks out yesterday and while the numbers are moving in the right direction I'm struggling a little with how slowly they seem to go. I had a follow up appointment yesterday and all of my blood work was "great" and my incisions have healed up incredibly well. Just gotta keep plugging away.

You are doing amazing! It's still blows my mind how much better I feel, so early out. I thought these were things that would happen much further along. Like yesterday, I was on my feet for over 12 hours. And I could have kept going. And today I'm fine. No sore feet or back. And energy to do it all again!
keep it up!

Hi welcome to the boards! You've already received a lot of great info. As one blue sock said, you need to find your support system.
In addition, you have a list of reasons for wanting surgery. Build on it. And refer to it often. When things get hard, or I feel complacent, I look at my list, I log on here, or I check out other wls accounts on instagram. It gives me the boost I need.
I can't speak to what will or won't qualify you for surgery, but what you describe are key reasons for having it done where I'm from in Canada.
good luck and keep posting!

Hi there!
You've taken the first step to 'unf**cking*' yourself by coming here and asking for help with how to handle things going forward....it's a big step.
I'm also starting this process again, sort of - I had a lap-band done in 2006 and it was initially successful....but adding in hypothyroidism, pregnancy (post-surgery baby!) and my own issues with food that I didn't really address until a couple years ago, I gained it all back and then some.
What I've learned from my experiences is that I 110% need a solid support system...with multiple legs. I need the forums here, I need a therapist, I need meds for my depression and anxiety, I need support from my husband, my friends, my family. I need all these things that I didn't think I needed the first go round. Now I'm working towards a revision early next year.
During my successful phase I tracked all my food and exercise using MyPlate, and then later MFP. I, too, was afraid I'd never be able to have a child given how large I was, my thyroid issues, and a bevy of other fears.
I think the best thing you can do now is continue to post here, and talk to your doctors, be very clear with your surgeon that you've got these diagnoses and you're worried what the impact will be going forward. They can help give you clearer information than we probably can because they know your health history
Good luck to you! :)

I'd be unstoppable if not for law enforcement & physics
Good for you!

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
I'm 5'5", I picked my own goal weight as my surgeon doesn't really give one, That's pretty common. I kept revising it as I went along and kept losing. I think it's definitely different depending on what your starting weight is too.
Congrats and way to go!
I'm under 340! I haven't been under 340 in years. My mom and my MIL want to take me shopping, lol. And I need new jeans! My joints feel so much better. I've had a hellacious two weeks at work where I was literally on my feet for the full 12 (sometimes 14) hours, and there's no way I could have done that 70 pounds ago. I got an Apple Watch, and I love it. It and the Round app mean that I'm much better about my vitamins. I've been doing yoga once a week and the gym twice a week (once with a trainer, because damn, am I out of shape).

Hello
Here in Canada... There is a criteria...
It appears that you would qualify.
Sleep paralysis ? Do mean sleep apnea?
BMI 45 yes... Hypothyroidism I am not sure ?
Do you have a history of depression?
OR are you currently depressed?
I know for a fact that if you are depressed?
You need to be actively treated for depression.
There is a long process for preparing for gastric bypass surgery. You would meet with the weight management doctor, nurse practioner who does a complete and thorough medical history. Here in Canada you attend information seminars that educate you through the journey. You meet with dietician & behaviourist. Pre & post op classes. There is a significant risk for depression post operatively. They really make sure that you are ready both physically and emotionally. Then and only then do you get the green light for surgery....
Good luck
Mahalo

I wish that I can help you!
I have no experience to share.
There is a forum for post surgery pregnancies.
Click on the three lines at the top, click on forums,
click on post op pregnancies and take time to read the various stories.
Good luck
