Weekly weigh in November 6-12

Morning weekly weighers!

Im full of cold, and a big whiny baby. But the scale is moving, so I'm happy about that.

i went to a wake on Saturday, and there were all kinds of people who didn't recognize me. My parents just started introducing me to everyone hahah

im officially at the stage where people are asking if I'm done losing now, and "surely you have nothing left to lose" etc. The brain is a funny thing. I know I'm getting closer to goal, but I'm not there yet!

i can see how easy it is to start to slack off, cut corners at this point. I catch myself thinking, sure have a bite of dessert, you're practically at goal. You can have a small glass of beer, etc. Etc.

It's easy to forget this is a lifestyle, and not a diet.

I feel like for those of us with higher starting BMIs, the active losing phase is so long, it's hard not to burn out.

How do you guys keep your head in the game?

for me, having small goals and milestones makes a huge difference.

Stats:

HW: 378

LW: 170

TW: 167

goals: 145, healthy BMI.

Take care everyone!

Ummm, did you think we wouldn't notice the 167 weight? That deserves more than the scale is moving ha ha! That is awesome! You've been hovering a long time. I know because I have too. I'm finally back at 169 for an extended number of days. Now I need to follow your example and knock it down a few.

I definitely slack off from time to time, but not often. I go out on the weekends and although not a drinker, I do like hamburgers. So I will have a half of a hamburger occasionally on the weekend. I thoroughly enjoy it. It's something that I never let myself order when obese. I know it doesn't get me closer to goal, but I'm ok with going a little slower -- just a little. I have always had an all or nothing attitude with my past gains and losses. That attitude didn't serve me well.

Clothes really help to keep me motivated. I love the way my clothes fit me. I had a huge and I mean HUGE number of clothes in my closet from ten yrs ago. Most are very nice and I'm thankful I didn't go for anything too trendy because they still looks great and fashionable. I'm finding that my body is still changing and even though the weight loss isn't showing as much, some of the clothes that didn't fit a month ago are fitting me now.

It's funny, clothes are both my motivator and nemesis these days haha. I get really excited when something looks good, or is a size I thought would be too small fits. But then I'm very ugh about buying temporary clothes all over again haha. Weighing the cost of a jacket because you're only going to get one season out of it, etc.

a year ago, I'd be rolling my eyes so hard listening to someone complain like that haha

I always feel like I have been given a second chance if my eating isn't up to par and I don't gain. Take advantage of it and get right back to it. You can do it.

Please do not listen to those who tell you not to lose anymore weight. I am 9 years out now and know I have to keep fighting every day. I have seen wayyyyyyy to many people here and in real life who have gained so much weight back. That will not be me. I love my life now and know mentally it would screw me up to gain. I would go into a tailspin. I know myself too well.

I think of my kids and SO. I do not want to be a burden to anyone due to my bad choices. I also know I would not be happy and live my life as I want to if I were to gain. That keeps my head in the game.

Reading the regain stories here on OH also helps me. I learn lessons every day.

Keep up the good work.

I am so very tired of being told not to lose any more weight. It drives me crazy.

I wouldn't be happy either if I were to gain. I would be miserable. Truly, that is what keeps me stepping up on that scale every day. Not the clothes. But I do love the clothes... ha ha.

Yay!!! Congratulations IF, Sally and Yvonne for your losses this week.

I was hoping to hit 50 lbs weight loss... I'm close, but I'm still waiting. I am into the 250's though, and have been for a few days, so I'm taking that as this week's victory!!!

HW: 308

LW: 262.5

TW: 259.5

Goal: pass the 50 lb weight loss threshold. :)

Also, to start getting in some cardio - even if I start slow, I'm ok with that. I'm going to set up my bike as an indoor bike for the winter.

Have a fab week everyone!!!
