Weekly Weigh-in 19/06/17-25/06/17
Morning Weekly weighers!
my week went well, I had a low weigh in of 207, but my meal planning fell apart as the week wrapped up. Not that I ate off plan, but i ate a lot of restaurant food, and higher sodium convenience foods. So I ended up at 208 this morning. Still fine, just annoying hahah
It's been a wierd week headspace wise too. I've been back and forth between worried people won't recognize me, and worried they won't notice I've lost any weight at all. Lol pick a lane brain!
Here's to a good week everyone!

Morning everyone!
I've been in a bit of a weird head space too. My shoulders are quite boney now which is so bizarre, never ever thought I would use boney as a descriptive word for myself but the melt is on and my top half is much smaller than my bottom. When I hugged my sister the other day she complained "your shoulder bone just hit me in the throat!".... and there have been a few "you must be at your goal weight now" comments. My poor brain is a little overwhelmed trying to rationalize the reflections it sees and the comments it hears.
It became "official" this morning.... for the first time in my life I stepped on a scale to see a number that started with a 1. It was cool to be able to record it but it also feels kinda like "Ok, check, now what's next?" I think I need to enjoy these moments a little more and not always look to the next goal so quickly because I worry about how that goal chasing mindset will effect me in the long term... specifically for the years and years of maintenance.

After a moment or two of sharing my good news and enjoying the onederland milestone... next goal is 193 (half my starting weight) and 186 (200 lbs lost).
Have a great week guys!

Wooo! Amazing! I'm the same with goals too. Always onto the next one. I never thought of how that will play out in maintenance. Good point!

Congratulations on the 1!
While I'm still working on weight goals, I also have a lot of non-weight goals - so maybe those would work for you in maintenance? Like... my big one this year was to run a half marathon in March. And I did! WOO! That'll be a goal every year I think :P And I'm sure I'll feel like a rockstar every single time I manage to do it.

Thanks Gwen
Yes I definitely need some more non scale related goals and I'm fascinated with how many people on OH get into running after/during weight loss. I don't see that happening for me but I do need to find something like that to work towards. Anything exercise or activity related would be an awesome goal to add.

Never in a million years did I think I'd run/want to run. In fact, I've said here, often, that if chased by a bear, I'd rather have been eaten if it was the choice of that or running away :P
But then my partner and my bff got into running. I started going to races with my partner as his ride and to hold his stuff during his races. I found that I really liked the race community. It was so welcoming. Even pre-WLS when I was at my highest weight people were LOVELY to me, would ask me if I was doing the race when I was at packet pickup with my partner, etc. It was amazing. I think it's an amazing community because no one is competing against you - everyone is just competing against their own selves so it's almost a cooperative "we're all in this together" experience.
I had been walking (and pre-op I'd ellipticalled) for my cardio exercise, but slowly I added in running. I used the Zombies Run 5k Training Plan to do interval training. And I was shocked to find that I enjoyed it! I believe I started running when I was around 260lb. I'm still slow and plodding, but I'm okay with that. :)
The other side of the coin of my exercise is fitness classes. Primarily pilates, tai chi, and yoga. I haven't really created any goals for pilates or tai chi, but I've had yoga goals (which I realize is completely contrary to the spirit of yoga) which are things like "attain shoulder stand this year" and "attain crow pose." The shoulder stand year, oh my go**** was a pose in my post-run stretching sequence and I really, really wanted to be able to do it. I worked, and worked, and finally I was able to get my legs up and WOW. I felt like a rock goddess :D What a rush to finally be able to get my body into a pose I'd been working toward for so long!
I haven't succeeded at crow pose yet, but I'll get there eventually :)

Oh! My favorite fitness goal was from my first year with goals - 2015. That goal was "15 minutes every damn day." So the goal was basically to do 15 minutes of logged exercise, not just "activity," every day of the year. I counted yoga, tai chi, pilates, walking for the sole purpose of exercise (which I differentiate from just walking through the grocery store or whatever), running.. and it had to be for at least 15 continuous minutes.
Let me tell you - it's rare that I've been more proud of myself than when I was able to share that I'd completed 363/365 days for that year :D (I missed the day my bff got married and a day that my dad was in the hospital.)
Last year I tried a goal of 5000 steps a day. (I know 10k is the standard, but I figured with my fitness classes which don't register as steps, that 5k was good for me.) I think in a future year this would have been a good goal for me, but it wasn't a good goal for me in 2016. :P

I think this is my first checkin post-op? Recovering from plastics is weird. I range from "protein shakes all the time" to "mac and cheese and how about ice cream."

Yay! Hope you're healing well! I was telling my husband about your surgery. Even though I have a long ways to go, I was just talking through the logistics of it with him. ...and that I'm feeling pretty whimpy about it haha
