Weekly weigh in 5/23-5/29
Happy Monday! Had a big weight loss this week of 4 pounds - this late in the game for me feels amazing. I've been feeling hungrier the last few weeks but I've still been between 600-800 calories a day, trying to cling onto that as long as I can to optimize the weight loss as long as I can lol. Obviously some days I might go over - like for our anniversary we went out to eat and I had 2 pieces of sushi, I haven't had rice since my surgery. It was amazing!! I had other stuff to eat but I've been obsessing over allowing myself to eat those 2 pieces. I'm trying to find that balance between not freaking out that I had 2 pieces of sushi in 14 months and returning to my previous overeating.

This week 308.8
Next goal: under 300
Goal weight: Not sure...180? Hard to imagine. I sorta feel like after I get past 275 that I won't get any lower. I have a mental block - Its been so long since I've weighed less than 275, I can't imagine being there again.
I'm walking, and starting to think about more exercise - elliptical and exercise videos are on the list.
I didn't meet my goal last week of doing the elipitcal twice - I have been so exhausted. But, it is my goal again this week. I'm still walking about 3/4 of a mile a day.
I've been back to work for two weeks and I'm super impatient an annoyed, I'm telling myself just to be patient and see how things seem 3-6 months after surgery.
NSV: I did not eat the cupcakes or the donuts in the office last week!
Hope you are all enjoy the rest of your week.

I feel the same way about the mental block thing. My lowest in my adult life was 250, so it's going to be really weird and awesome once I get below that. I remember when I was 250, I went on this HUGE hike in this area that I love that has statues and gardens. I took a picture of myself then and I looked so happy and proud of myself. I can't wait to get back there.

No goal weight.
I get the mental block completely. Right after surgery I totally freaked out and was convinced the surgery would not work for me and that I wouldn't lose a lot of weight. My BFF reminds this of me ALL the time lol. I was seriously terrified. I'm stunned every week when I weigh myself and lose more.
So I truly truly believe if you follow the rules and push yourself you can lose the weight after the surgery! There are so many helpful vets - people who have been successful for years- around this site that have helped me. I kind of stalked their posts lol and followed their advice. I believe that's why I've lost as much I have. I hope that if I keep following their advice I will be a vet someday who has also been successful and if you follow the rules you can hit 180!
Don't be so hard on yourself on not exercising if you're exhausted. That will come. Listen to your body, you're not that far out from surgery.
I hadn't been under 300lbs for twenty years. The weight I am now I think I was in elementary school? Really... not kidding. I set many mini goals along the way. When you have a lot to lose, you have no concept of where you are going. You have to re-evaluate as you get closer. Step by step you do it.
Not eating cupcakes? Huge victory!
