RNY vs Sleeve, 6 months until surgery, I'M NEW AND NEED A BUDDY! :)
Hi! I'm Maria.
I live in Alaska. I'm 441 lbs. 27 years old, I have had my initial appointment with an excellent surgeon. I have had a few of the required appointments, and am now starting to get excited. I'm also starting to struggle with the fact that this is real and really going to happen. (Hopefully, unless something awful happens.)
I would love for someone to inbox me and be my pal! I need someone to chat with regularly and check in with. I can't wait to start going to some counseling, I'm really kind of nervous to deal with my life, instead of eat myself into oblivion.
I think I have a lot to offer someone else too, in terms of support and general friendliness. I'm always up for a laugh! If you're in the same boat I am, great. If not, also great. Man or woman! :)
Thanks for taking a peek at my rambling.
Very Sincerely,
Maria
Hi & Welcome to the forum!
Feel free to post while you're looking for a buddy. There are plenty of people around the various forums that are willing to help & give support. Check out the rny/vsg what are you eating threads. The rny seems pretty active & I've heard they welcome sleevers too, I'm guessing the reverse is true on the vsg thread.
There are a few of us regulars that are here on this forum too. Good Luck on your weight loss journey.

Welcome Maria!
Sometimes it's easier to post on any of the forums and get support from many different people. My starting weight was close to yours, so I know what the future can hold for you. Life is so much better without all that weight to lug around.
As T said, either the RNY or VSG boards are fairly active. Don't be afraid to wander over there.
Welcome to OH and good luck on your journey.
