Weekly Weigh In 2/22- 2/28
Hi everybody, guess I'll start it off this week.
Got caught with a flat on my way home from the bike path & it just had to be the back tire & it was just late enough that I couldn't make it to the bike shop b4 it closed, so I had to lug it on the train, it was not a pretty site., & I had to majorly pee! So glad I was able to make it home b4 having an accident! Perhaps if I was better at changing tires in the street instead of doing it at home I could've spared myself the embarrassment, oh well. On a positive note I did have a drop. My stats so far:
High weight 366
Last week 185
This week 182
Next goal 150's & in the green of a healthy bmi.

I have an aversion to riding my bike bc I don't know how to change a flat and I'm always afraid of getting stuck. Sucks bc I love riding ...I might need to take a bike mechanic class or something.
Currently in the process of losing some serious regain

Oh yeah, I took a tire upkeep class, it was free & geared to women at the bike shop. The last time I tried to change a tire I ended up pinching the tire & gave myself a flat, so a class was definitely needed. I keep a metrocard, some cash, a bike map, a train map & a bus map in my bike bag for just such that type of situation, so I can keep riding & not worry too much on getting caught out there, but damn I had to pee too! Ugh!

Finding a place to pee in the city is no easy task...

I have a friend who got me into mountain biking. When I got my first flat, he changed it for me. When I got my second one, he said. I'll guide you, but you are doing it yourself. Which I did. He showed me how to cut the old inner tube to line the tire before putting the new inner tube in. Haven't had a flat since. Sadly he won't bike with me because I am too much of a novice and it isn't fun for him. LOL I'm not ready for big rock gardens I'm still working on a track stand
Today is my 1 year surgiversary. WooHoo
I actually joined a gym this week. My first exercise since I started this journey. The classes kicked my tail. And my thighs would have been willing to commit murder I think. But overall, I will enjoy it. What I won't enjoy is the water weight gain that comes from new exercise. I had actually broken the 90s decade and finally hit 189. But I rocketed back up to 195 at the start of the week.

It's been a pretty good few weeks for me. I need to work on getting more sleep, but my food intake and activity level have been good. My goal is to maintain. I will be turning 50 in a few months so that is a good motivator!!

4 pounds down this week, just finished week 5 of Optifast. They did a body composition study of me at the start, and at the end of week 4. I'd lost 17 pounds of fat, and 1 pound of muscle mass. Given that I have a LOT of muscle mass (nearly 150 pounds, more than my goal weight just in muscle!) this sounds reasonable to me.
This weekend I'm doing a solo weekend trip to Disney. Well, maybe solo, my mom might join me one of the two days. I plan on doing a lot of walking, I always do at theme parks. Also, since I'm Optifast I'm bringing my food with me. It actually travels easily, and I'll definitely be saving on money without spending on over-priced theme park food!
