That was one of my biggest  fears  befor i started my process but then i said to myself are u stupid you can barely walk much less breath u cant fit in a standered seat cant buy clothes even at a fat shop and u sweat like a running water pipe and your worried about some loose skin and once i really thought about it and realised how minor that problem was to the problems im facing now with my obesity loose skin is not an issue to me any more want to be healthier so now im waiting patiently in line to have my wls

I can understand your concerns.. I'm 40 , 450 lbs.. and worry also.  I bet the skin will be the least of our problems.. just think of all the fun things we will be able to do comfortably!! Plus if the skin is a bother you can always look into getting it removed.  I also think anyone of a large size will end up with some loose skin... Depending on size, age, ect.  Don't let that stop you, you are well on your way! Best of luck to you my dear! C-SUNSHINE

I also have that concern but everybody says 'don't let the skin' stop you from going forward with the surgery so that is what I am doing.  If it comes down to it, I will look into plastics but if I can live with what I've got, I will wear it as a badge of honor.  No way to know before how each person's skin is going to react.  Best of luck to you!

I too worry about the loose skin when I finally have my surgery. ..but. ..it will so be worth feeling better and being more healthy.  Like the one person said. .wear it like a badge of honor.   Plus,  in my opinion,  I've hidden the full of fat skin under clothes all this time. ..I will love hiding loose skin under cute clothes.  Smile and be proud you are getting healthy!

My highest recorded weight was 315, and I am 5'6" with a heavy frame. I have lost 130 lbs with at least 30 more to go, and I do have some signifigant loose skin already. When I'm wearing compression garments and regular clothes nobody is the wiser, and the compression keeps things from flipping or flopping or chafing uncomfortably. Things aint pretty when I'm completely naked, and without the compression I do have some uncomfortable wobbly bits, but that's what plastic surgery savings funds are for.

I'm also just about to embark on my own weight loss journey and share the same fears... but I've also written and researched a bunch on the topic and there are several clinical procedures available to tighten skin after losing weight, but they all cost a pretty penny. Time to save up while it's still early! :-)
