So I have PC OS polycystic ovarian syndrome and I was just wondering if anybody here has heard of Myo Insitiol or d Chiro Insitol?  I was doing some research on ways to lose weight with PCOS while I'm waiting to have enough money to get my VSG surgery.

According to the research I've done when taken with folic acid people have found improvement in their insulin department they also had lower testosterone levels and even had more regular ovulation occur some even had significant weight loss.I  just wanted to know if anybody here has taken it  And did you experience of any sort of weight-loss did any of the other benefits it claims?

Thank you so much! ^_^

I have and I did take D Chiro for 5 months.  It was very expensive and I had to special order it for purity.  I have taken it with Neevo DHA which is a very expensive prescription supplement with DHA and L-methylfolate which is the active form of folate ready to be used by the body thus it is fully synthesized folic acid.

The short answer is that it made absolutely no difference in my glucose readings or weight.

Darn! I guess I'll be sticking to what I'm doing now, exercise and healthy diet.

Thank you so much for the reply!

Thank you for sharing though :) I've been doing some more research, I think if I read the study correctly some weight loss occurred in people with a BMI less then 50 :/  I think I would've still wanted to give it a try but I'm low I funds haha

I have PCOS and managed to lose 40 lbs in the 10 weeks before my surgery.  I cut starchy carbs out of my diet (and kept in 2 Amal fruit snacks a day), ate 80-90g of lean protein a day and drank lots and lots of water!  I cut out pop and crap.  I stopped drinking 30 minutes before I ate and waited 15 minutes after I ate to start drinking again.  I got zero calories from liquids. My theory was that if I made the lifestyle changes before surgery instead of after I would have an easier time post op.  I'm 6 months out and down 101 lbs from my surgery weight.

Thank you for the reply! I think I'll give some of your methods a try! I have never had much sodas but chocolate is my biggest temptation!
