About BMI

Hello to you all.

I was wandering if there is anyone over 63 bmi and had the sleeve done?

Also did you have a good out come?

Hello! I just had the sleeve 07/06/15 and my BMI is currently 73.9. I went in to surgery with a BMI of 77.  I had complications that were totally unrelated to the surgery. When coming out of anesthesia I had respiratory failure and ended up in ICU for 5 days.  However, my surgeon and the team that helped me in the hospital said this was totally unrelated and my surgery went well!  I am already losing, as you see my BMI has decreased!!

I am just a bit nervous about it all. My Surgery will be the end of Sept. Or beginning of Oct.

I always had the mind set of getting this weight off from the start of the year that was my goal.

So this will be the start of my journey. :)

I had a BMI of 73 when I started this.  It was down to 68 when I had my surgery on Jan 12/15.  At my 6 month follow up my BMI was 48.  I've lost a total of 138 lbs and couldn't be happier!!  With a starting BMI that high without the surgery I would have died.  Sometimes the risks associated with having the surgery are far less than the risks associated with not having it 😃

You are doing a great job in losing..

I know what you are saying that without the surgery we could have died.

My Dr told me that I had to do something about my weight it was becoming every close to be coming deadly.

So there I was ok this is it last resort for me.. 

I started with a BMI of 62.7 and right now I'm down to 50.5 BMI but I'm still only 4 months our so I have a while to go and more progress to make for sure! 

Oh, I just saw you asked about the sleeve though. I had RNY done.
