I'm one week post op and feeling so nauseous for the first time since surgery.  My question is this...will it hurt a lot if/when I vomit?

It might. Do you have a prescription for zofran?

I did a lot more gagging than actual vomiting.  It made my abdomen a little sore but the worst part was the few seconds when you feel like you can't stop and get a breath.  It is over fairly quick, though.  The couple of times I have actually vomited have been recently when I have eaten something that my pouch did not approve of (thin sliced deli ham today, for example).  In those instances the vomiting was a RELIEF from the pain the food was causing.

I vomited when I ate too much or too fast - and I was in agony. Vomiting brought instant relief and was not painful. Try to avoid the issud by chewing you food thoroughly.
