Hey, I had surgery on Monday and I had the same problem as you are experiencing. I have been kind of putting on foot up on the toilet so I can wipe myself easier. The first day I needed help from my mother to take a bath. But as the days go by it gets easier for me, I just have to remember to take the PRN pain meds during the day which helps a lot. 

Using a pillow pressed against my stomach also helps when Im moving a lot, coughing, or getting up.
