Anyone fail at the liver shrinking diet?

Hi. I had this same fear. I also did a 14 day liquid diet (Synthrax shakes -- up to 5 per day) --- lost nearly 20 lbs and was fine for surgery. I didn't "cheat" once during the two weeks.

If you stick to your surgeon's plan, I'm sure you'll be fine! But if you find the worry is consuming you - call and ask the surgeon, "Hey has this ever happened?"

I stuck to my two week pre-op diet but after surgery found out my liver was still huge. The doctor was able to do the surgery it just took him a lot longer than usual because the area he had to work in was very small. Every doctor is different so I would check with yours.
