How are you post-Thanksgiving?

How are you all doing?  How'd the holiday treat you?  Any tales of woe or excite?

My holiday was good.  I got to 199 right before (Tuesday) and have managed to maintain there even though I feel like I've been grazing on all the crap in the house since Thursday.  I'm glad that all the crap is pretty much gone, or frozen which is almost as good as it being gone.

I'm also glad that I do Christmas at my parents' house, because all the suboptimal food will stay there instead of being in my home!

I did try to eat "real" breakfasts with my family instead of just sitting with them with my standard breakfast protein shake, but my bowels were very displeased with that turn of events so, at Christmas, I think I'll just eat traditional Christmas breakfast on the 25th and stick to my shake the other mornings.  This seems safest.

Glad to hear you had a nice holiday, Gwen. Thanksgiving week was awesome for me. Lots of fun with my family. I do not go crazy during the holidays, but I do eat a little of everything. I am happy that I did not gain. We shall see how I am doing January 1st. Over the last 5 years I generally gain about 5 between Thanksgiving and New Years and then lose it in the spring. I don't worry about the holidays anymore. It's a very good feeling.

Thanksgiving was good. I didn't host, so I didn't have too much leftover food, with one notable and irritating exception: my darling husband took dear daughter over to visit my mother, who sent home about 8 dozen cookies. I chucked some in the freezer and I put at least six a day in his lunch. I've had a total of three since Thanksgiving.

Christmas is at my house this year, and everyone has decided they want lasagna, salad, and garlic bread. Not wls friendly, so I will just make a little ricotta bake for myself.

I'm maintaining, so I'm pleased with that. I haven't decorated yet, but I will do that this Saturday after my mammogram. Fun and exciting times at my house

Hello all

I did pretty well over the holiday, didnt lose since last Thursday but haven't gained either.  I did get a little tummy ache from eating new things, even though it was just a bite or two.....had to get back to eating "my way" and all is well now.  I am not so worried about Christmas, as it is not as much about food as Thanksgiving. Lots of sweets at work, just avoiding the lounge completely.  Hope all of you had a great holiday and an even better Christmas.

BEST THANKSGIVING EVER! I was able to enjoy my family and not obsess about food. I made a plan of what I was going to eat and stuck to it. Since surgery I have not had potatoes, rice, bread, pasta or anything made with sugar so those things are just not appealing to me. I think for me when I eat those things my body just wants more. I stuck to turkey, fresh steamed green beans and a bite of fruit salad. It was enjoyable sitting and talking with the people I love. I can't wait for Christmas! Bring it on!

FABULOUS. I'm almost 6 years out, so have some stomach capacity, so got to try all the treats I cared to.

I'm a DSer, so fat is my friend, and there was so much protein and not stressing over fat levels made it easy.

There is also no other day of the year that I can eat unlimited olives of all sorts.
