Hi I'm Kim and a serious food addict. I'm looking for help... There are no face to face meetings available in my state. I'm 26 and about 360 lbs. I have a boyfriend of 5 years who I have been living with for 2 and a half years who is also a food addict but not nearly as bad as I am. I desperately want to stop this. I'm not sure how this all works but any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Kim

I'm sure there are therapists in your state, so that's where I'd start!  One who specializes in disordered eating might be best, but any therapist you click with willbe beneficial.

VSG with Dr. Salameh - 3/13/2014
Diagnosed with Binge Eating Disorder and started Vyvanse - 7/22/2016
Reconstructive Surgeries with Dr. Michaels - 6/5/2017 (LBL & brachioplasty), 8/14/2017 (UBL & mastopexy), 11/6/2017 (medial leg lift)

Age 42 Height 5'4" HW 319 (1/3/2014) SW 293 (3/13/2014) CW 149 (7/16/2017)

Hi Kim.  I am Kathryn and I am also a food addict.  Right now, I am a recovering food addict.

Are you seeking bariatric surgery?  If so, I would ask your program to refer you to a bariatric counselor.  If not, I would seek an eating disorder specialist.  My counselor specialized in bulimia.  When you think about it, food addicts are very similar -- we usually just don't purge.  :-)

I hope you find some help. I know how much it sucks to be a slave to food.
