I've been reading & learning as much as possible about what's ahead since I'm just beginning my process. I've spent most of my time in the General & VSG forums. I'd love to hear more from everyone here since we have/had higher BMI before surgery.

Thanks Patty for starting this off.

I'm just a noisy kinda girl - always ready to start talking. :-)

CJ, who are you applying to? I will have to travel an hour to Portland. I'm wondering if it's worth it to head further N to see Dr. Srikanth.

I'm on Apple Care (WA Medicaid) so my PCP said she'd begin the process for me to go to Univ. of Washington for surgery. I have a cardiologist at Franciscan, but none of the bariatric surgeons there accept Apple Care so UW it is. I was to see my PCP Thursday, but she had an emergency so my appointment was rescheduled for the 14th. Really wanted to hear some good news from her, but I have to wait.

Don't know why I'm in a rush, can't have my sleep apnea test til mid-March anyway. lol

Don't mind you talking. I talk to everyone IRL. I'm just kinda quiet here 'cause I'm reading as much as I can to be better prepared with questions.

I think the desire is move quickly shows our commitment. I got my ins approval for initial steps 3 weeks ago and I'm frustrated that I've not yet been scheduled for an appt.

I know that I don't have the experience that others farther down the road bring to the table, but we don't have to do this alone. I don't have much support at home, so I look for it here for now.

I am so very thankful for this site. It is tremendously helpful for us WLS patients. I aspire to be one of the "vets"!!
