I decided on wls this past August. Since then I have been lurking and reading everyone's amazing journeys. I can't wait until I am on the other side.

Hi Keisha! I'm still waiting for my 1st appointment and need 3 months of supervised dieting, so we will be doing this together! And you are down 6 lbs already. Good job.

Our starting stats are very similar. I am currently trying to decide between vsg or rny. If you don't mind me asking, what caused you to revise to the rny? I am torn between the two surgeries just because I think I need more than only restriction but I am scared of the long term effects of malabsorption.

Hello Keisha! :)

I did really well with my sleeve... lost about 70 lbs in about 4 months until I lost my dad... Which was 2 days before Halloween... I then found out that things that should have been taboo for me.. weren't.. I raided my sons candy from Halloween... Also realized that I was able to eat and not always feel full, which completely backfired on me... I also ended up having GERD and a hiatal hernia.  I knew I needed a revision, my insurance approved the second surgery.  The malabsorption freaks me out.. but I need the restrictions that rny has.  If you use youtube check out the pros and cons of both (I have a channel :) Same name as here ) Even on here... lots of studying you can do prior to making your decision.  I have seen lots of people completely rock their sleeves!  It just wasn't for me.

Thank you for replying. I will definitely check out you tube as part of my research.  I still have 5 months left to decide and I keep going back and forth.

Yes, thanks for sharing your experience. I've heard some folks say that they weren't hungry with the sleeve, but it sounds like YMMV.
