Progress after a set back
About a month ago I was rejected by the WLS dept at my local hospital in Salem OR, as I was 15 lbs over their BMI limit. It had taken me quite a bit of effort to commit to WLS, so this was like a slap in the face. At the time I was devastated and many of you encouraged me.
I pulled up my big girl panties and applied to a much better known (and experienced) program in Portland. I pestered their ins dept and heard back that things are progressing! They easily got the referral from my PCP and are now jumping through the prior auth hurdles. I'm very glad that they are managing the paperwork tangle for me.
I'm excited to meet with one of the surgeons. Crossing my fingers!
Glad to hear things are moving in the right direction. This program may have you lose weight prior to surgery but hopefully will give you the information and tools you need to do so.
Keep us posted!!

You're welcome. I just found this again after the update. They moved everything around and I forgot to come to the over 50 forum. :-)
