My surgery was 3/11 and I have gone from 503 to 403 lbs! I am so excited...but wanted to see who else started out at a really high weight and got down to a low weight. I hope to get to 200.

Hello~
I my highest was 438, preop 5 days before surgery I was 429, surgery day 426.  As of 07/07/14 I was 371.8.  I have set 230 to 250 for my Realistic goal.  Once I hit that I will see how I feel and look and maybe go to 190 to 200.  I am 6 foot tall and have a bigger build for a women so we will see.  I totally believe it is possible.  We have come this far and we can go further :)

VSG on 10/29/13

My highest weight was 477. My surgery weight was 453. I'm down to 328 now. My VSG was on October 29th, 2013. My official goal is 170, but my more realistic goal is 225. At 241 lbs, I'll have lost 75% of my excess weight. I'm a tall lady with a big frame, so I don't know how small I'll get, but I'm enjoying the progress so far.

I started at 411. My surgery date was April 2006. My lowest weight was 205 with over a 200 lb loss. I had plastic surgery in 2008 and gained back 65 pounds over the next year and a half. I am now at 270 and have been there for 3 or 4 years. I am struggling with getting around 30 to 40 pounds off for my goal. Well, not really struggling. I am struggling with MYSELF at trying to be consistent and stick to the bariatric guidelines

I'm on here to support others and to get support myself.

This post totally made me feel better about my decision.  I started out at 405# on 8/10/14  I day before my RNY.  I am short only 5 foot 3 inches.   So I looked like a soccerball with arms and legs.  I was getting worried because I just didn't seem to find any one else that was as heavy as I was.  This gives me some hope and makes me realize when I say I want to get to 200 pounds  I am not crazy.  I know no matter how much someone has to lose, it is all a personal journey.  It is just nice to actually hear from someone over 350#

My starting weight was not as high as yours, but I have gone from 340 to 140 and have maintained my loss for almost 5 years (my RNY was 6 years ago).

Keep up the good work!!

My stats are very close to Laura's -- high in the 330's, now I hover around 145 (7 years post-op) -- so I didn't start anywhere nearly as high, but wanted to encourage you to just be diligent about your new eating habits.  You may very possibly get under 200, especially if you have excess skin removed.
