Hello, I have a BMI over 60.
I am 5'0 with a BMI over 60 so that puts me way up there. I know there are more here like that but I dont see too many. I have went thru all my obstacles and now waiting for my surgery date. I have lost about 14 pounds while waiting. I'm super excited I really just wanted to say hello to heavy weights and everyone else.
Welcome! Congrats on your loss so far and I hope that you don't have to wait long for your date.

I am! My recovery has been really easy so I'm pretty happy! I've lost 40 pounds since I started this whole process in January, about 13 since surgery, and I'm feeling very positive about the future. Plus, my jeans are totally baggy everywhere. Every day I feel my body change in new ways and it's simply AWESOME.

Hey purplequeeny (my favorite color!) .... I am in your ballpark ... 5'4" and BMI 64.5 ..... and waiting for a surgery date as well (doc submitted to insurance on 3/21)... and I am excited too!

What shall I return to the Lord for all his bounty to me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord, I will pay my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful ones.
O Lord, I am your servant; I am your servant, the child of your serving girl. You have loosed my bonds. -- Psalm 116:12-16
Hi purplequeeny,
I am 5'2" and my BMI was 60+ in mid December. I had my rny on 2/24/14, my BMI is now 46. In the 2 months prior to my surgery I lost a total of 50 pounds. It made it easier for my surgeon and safer for me. I also think that my recovery was easier due to the fact that there was a lot of extra room for him to move in my abdomen. It was a difficult 2 months prior to my surgery but since that wonderful day in February my life is couldn't be better.
I am down a total of 80 pounds as of last Friday and I am feeling like a million bucks. I didn't know life could be this good. I am having an easy time getting fluids down and meeting all my nutrition goals set my by surgeon. The one thing that I am amazed at is I AM NO LONGER HUNGRY. I don't obsess about food, I think about it in the morning when I am planning out my day but that is it. I know that my hunger will come back at some point but I am going to take advantage of every second it is gone.
This has been the best decision I have made in my life. Good luck with your pre-op and your surgery!
