Howdy
I figured I should take a moment to introduce myself here. :)
I'm 5'4" and my high weight was 319. Which I think puts me between 54-55 BMI so I qualify for this group :) My ultimate weight goal is to lose almost 200 pounds. Right now, that seems like a completely unfathomable goal, but I'm sure it will feel more attainable once I've actually recovered from surgery.
I admit to feeling a little envy over the people who have only 100 (or even less!) to lose. I wish that I hadn't abused my body the way that I have in the past. Sigh.

this is the forum for you , don't try to compare yourself to the light weights , they lose different than us
we have more trouble exercising, I go to the pool 5-6 days a week for water walking and aqua aerobics, and after a year of losing I just started 5 minutes of elliptical
the first week or so after surgery is hardest after you start solid food it gets easier
you can check out what I eat at myfitnesspal.com my screen name is

Hi Gwen!
Welcome to the forum! There hasn't been much activity lately but this is a great group of people. We all can understand having more than just 100 or so pounds to lose. Hell, I have lost over 160 pounds and I am still technically OBESE! lol Only another pound or so until I am overweight! So I get it! I first considered surgery when I was 315 pounds and I lost down to 280. Then, I changed my mind and in little less than a year, I gained to 362 pounds!! Talk about a bad decision!! I wish I had gotten that surgery the first time and never got to 362 but I did. Just gotta start from where you are today and look ahead.
I had surgery 14 months ago and I remember creating my ticker on OH and seeing the slider all the way to the left. I was thinking about how great it would be to have that little smiley face all the way to the right but it felt like it would never happen. However, the last year FLEW by! I can't believe I'm this far out and this much down. So many of us have done it and you will get there too, I am sure.
Keep up posted with how you are doing. The first month can be tough but it's so worth it!! :-)

I also found this forum recently and totally get where you're coming from, my bmi is 57 and I also have about 200 lbs to lose, right now I'm trying to get to the losers bench!, lol, surgery date 4/25, try not to think off all the weight to lose cuz it looks crazy right now, concentrate on the day to day, you're taking steps right now to a healthier you! Frankly I look forward to going back to my workouts at the gym without my knees acting up. Give yourself time to heal physically and emotionally. Good luck!
Thank you! Hopefully 4/25 will be here sooner than you think :D
