I know - isn't it crazy??? I can't imagine what it must be like to be someone that knows me, but hasn't seen me since I was that heavy... what a shock it must be?? For me... I see me everyday, it seems NORMAL to look the way I do now. For others, it's still quite shocking!

I know what you mean about not being recognized. I have naturally curly hair and I decided to start straightening it about 5 years ago.  At the same time, I lost 100lbs.  At Thanksgiving that year, my husband's cousin wondered who that lady was with him.  I've known her for 20 years.

HA HA HA - happened to me at Christmas time. My husband's cousin (that has met me several times) asked, "Who is the woman with Randy??" hahahaha

It's crazy, embarrassing, and flattering all at once!

Hell no, it's not just a number on the scale. The day I hit onderland I cried. I hadn't been under 200 pounds in at least 10 years. Go Nikke!

Also, I highly recommend the Bod Pod. It gives a clear picture of what is fat and what isn't.

YES - I'm hoping to do the BodPod tomorrow. Just out of curiosity - did they say anything to you regarding how a BodPod handles excess skin?

Thank you!!

No, they didn't, but my guess is because you have to wear something quite snug, like a bathing suit, the skin doesn't cause a falsely high reading. The results are broken into two categories: fat and fat free mass. The latter is everything that is not fat, such as bone, organs, muscle, and I presume skin. For example, at 28% body fat, my fat free mass was 118 pounds, which left me with 47 pounds of fat (I weighed 165 on their scale that morning). So at this point, I don't want to lose any more fat free mass but just keep chugging away on reducing the fat (especially the pesky fat hanging around my lower abdomen).

Great! I think doing it would be REALLY beneficial for me, so I'm going to set the appointment. I guess since they told me I could wear a bathing suit that a sports bra and shapewear bottoms would be ok? lol I don't own a bathing suit!

I'll let everyone know how it goes!
