Not much under 50 (49.3), but when I had surgery (just under two months ago) I had a bmi of 56.7.

I started at 170kg (375) and am at 146 now (322).  I know I have a long trip ahead of me to get to my goal weight 77kg (170), but I feel like I might be able to do it now, and is never felt that way before.

Congrats to you Susan!! As "heavyweights" - we definitely have a long road ahead of us. It can seem unmanageable/undoable at times.... but I'm glad you're gaining confidence! It takes a lot of hard work but it's TOTALLY worth it!!

i started around the same weight... it's an amazing feeling , I totally understand.   I'm 43 yrs old and have never lost more than 30 pounds at a time.  I cant believe I'm "only" 49 pounds away from my goal.  That is completely nuts in my book!

Congrats!  Keep plugging away at it! I started out at 70+ and am currently in the low 30's. If I can do it you can too.

Wow, I guess there is hope.  It was finally above freezing yesterday and I went for a 3 hour walk.  It was nice to be able to move without the same kind of back or hip pain I was having (still get knee/ankle/foot pain!),  It was awesome.
