THE END IS NEAR!

Hello everyone! It's me! I just recieved a surgerydate!!!

I am not sure if any remember but my first post about 7 months ago I was completely crushed that bcbs required a 6 month supervised diet!

Anyways, I can now say I am ever so greatful for it!!! I have managed to lose 51lbs gain confidence in my ability to succeed and I developed a mind for weight loss. Had I had te surgery without this waiting period I probably would've went nuts! This is a process! Anyways like the title says the end is near!

I just recieved my surgery date of March 19th 2014! I have NEVER EVER seen myself at a "normal" size and that is honestly a dream of mine! I am so excited!

After months of searching through the boards here and tossing between which surgery to select I decided on the sleeve! Everyone has been suggesting I do the bypass but I honestly feel the sleeve would be the best option for me! I am not looking for te surgery to be my answer but a boost in the right direction, an assistance if you will. I don't know how I will tell my family I am going with the sleeve, but I have plans on starting a plant based diet, and eventually moving into raw foodism (the best thing ever!!!) i I am not sure how successful I would be on these alternative nurtrional plans with the bypass (malabsorption concerns).

Well. Pray for me all! Keep me in your thoughts, and please give me advice!!

Congratulations! I love my sleeve and am so pleased that it's what I finally decided on. I wouldn't have it any other way. My biggest advice is to find a way to get your fluids immediately post-op. I found I could not drink any cold or room temperature beverages. Everything had to be hot AND flavored, or I could not get it down. If it wasn't for my husband's homemade chicken broth and ho****er with lemon, I would have ended up back in the hospital for dehydration. Everyone is different, so play around and try to quickly find the best meathod for your fluids. Good luck!

Congrats on all of your success so far! I know that I was apprehensive about the supervised diet, but it turned out to be a blessing for me as well. I'm so glad that you are confident in your decision and doing so well! I can't wait to hear more about it. Congrats to you on getting a date and for doing SO well so far!!

Congratulations on both the surgery date and the significant weight loss.  I opted for the sleeve and felt it was the right procedure for me.

You sound like you have a very positive attitude and highly motivated.  Keep up the good work!

Can't wait to have you join us on the loser's bench!

I chose the sleeve over the Bypass for the same reason as you. i'm still healing and adjusting to the new way of eating but I'm still very confident that I made the right choice.

Good Luck!
