Bum bum bum..... I had some of the regain. Why? Oh, a multitude of reasons (excuses). I had a real breakdown over the summer. I couldn't resolve what I looked like with how I felt inside (still that fat girl).
I packed on about 25 pounds. On purpose. I got my boobs back. I got my behind back. But I lost that sense of accomplishment I had with such an awesome first year of weightloss.
Im back on track now. It is amazing how well the pouch works when you fill it with dense protein and not crap. I started the paleo diet...I know, I know, diets are bad/don't work/ etc but this is uniquely perfect for post op nutrition.
anyway, I've lost ten pounds since the first of the year. 11 more until I'm back at goal weight. I'm back to the boards, which I had been ignoring.
Stay strong. Stay accountable. Don't be me:)
thanks for the support, obesityhelp rny community!
Glad to see you back, girly!! Forgive yourself for the gain and stay on track. The mental part is the hardest. But it does get easier. I felt exactly like you did when I lost the weight, but you know the "answer" is NOT gaining it back.
The comments about your loss will die down and you will get more comfortable in your own skin. It took me until about 4 years out to feel better mentally, but now at 5.3 years out, I feel great. I finally feel like I blend into society. I like that feeling.
Hang in there!!
