Vitamin Dosage
Question: I take a vitamin b12 daily, the one that ive been taking is a take one daily and each dose is 2500 mcg. When I went to buy more they only had a bottle with the dosage of take 1-3 daily and there is only 500 mcg in each pill. My question is should I take enough of the 500 mcg to cover the dosage I've been taking daily (2500mcg) or should I follow what's on the new bottle. Also both the new and old bottles are the same brand.
Thanks
Have you had your labs checked recently? That sounds like a lot for someone who has not had WLS. Having too much B12 is not a good thing. Even with RNY, we are only recommended to take 500-1000 per day. I take 2500 3 times a week and my levels are a bit high.

I was on 2500 mcg of B12 about 7 months pre surgery, but I only took it every other day. I was on that dosage based on labs taken pre surgery. Since surgery, based on my labs, I could take 1,000 a day or continue my 2,500 every other day. Since I have bottles already on hand of the 2,500, that is what I am doing.
