I don't believe the original poster was trying to discriminate against anyone. I think you are taking the original comment WAY too seriously.  I feel like it was a tongue-in-cheek post and if you read all of the comments, most of us are admitting that there is nothing very different about the struggles we all go through.  We're just jealous enlightened This is a specific forum for people who have similar BMIs and struggles and she was venting her frustration.  No one said that you are "less than us" and I don't recall anyone saying that you don't deserve to be healthy.  I'm sorry you got so offended by the comments.  There is a WLS Surgery Lightweight board if you want to go vent about us heavy people! :-)

I guess that is my point...I don't want to "vent" about anyone and I don't want venting against me. We should be kind to one another and not tear each other down.

The original poster didn't say anything major but some (not all) of the responses were very blunt and straight forward with their thoughts on lightweights. I'm just asking that everyone show kindness and mercy to everyone, no matter where they are on their journey and don't make anyone feel as though they don't have the right to get healthy and make decisions that are right for themselves.

Very well-intentioned and honorable thought... but this is the internet! lol  Sometimes, that's what this is here for so that we can share our frustrations with like minded individuals going through the same struggles.  As much as we may try, our thoughts can't always be pure, sweet, happy and PC. There are many places that I stay away from on the net cus I don't want to be offended.

Obviously nobody here who posted knows you personally. This is not a matter of someone putting you down.

For me personally as I've mentioned The take back is we are on our own journey. however the experience is significantly different for those who have two or three hundred pounds to lose.

My experience has shown me that everything from diet to the requirements of exercise are different.

I completely understand and respect that. I can't imagine what some people have to go through and I would offer any support that I can, even if it is just a verbal, "way to go"! I guess I just wish the same was shown towards everyone who is on this journey.

I, for one, am scared to death of this choice. I know it has to be done and I'm scared that my insurance is going to deny me and I'm scared they are going to say yes. Because I don't have my family's support, this forum is where I come for answers and to be lifted up when I'm down. I don't like seeing so many negative comments towards each other. I think many of us get enough of that from the outside world. We as a community should be standing strong together and for each other and respecting each other's choices. I want to always be here if ANYONE needs a kind word or a shoulder to cry on.
