worried about excess skin

So I just had my surgery on 9/24/13 and I'm stoked to be down 20lbs. But it hit me just now..... there's a lot of me to love and that loving is gonna start disappearing and once it does I'm certain there are places that will hang to my knees. What do people do ? I've had 3 kids and dont see my skin having a whole lot of elasticity left. I know i've got time but I have to know. You can only stuff, cram and hide it in so many places right ?

Ah, skin. I have some. I started at 314 and had a big gut. I thought I would have a huge pannus. Instead, I have a small pannus but batwings and a saggy bum. I am now 170. I was 38 when I had surgery and had two kids.
I was worried about excess skin, but I have found it really doesn't bother me much. If I come into some money I will get my boobs tacked up. If I hit Powerball I will get a tummy tuck. The brachiolasty scares the bejeezus out of me, so I will be keeping those. My legs look good.
It is hard to predict how much skin you will have.

start saving most heavy weights  need some plastic surgery , but it will be 2-3 years down the road , if you have insurance , go to the doctor every time you have any rash, infection, irritation  and get it in your medical record some insurance companies will cover plastics with a medical need, you will need to prove that need

till you get the plastics you may need to get some spanks to hold everything up

I think it really depends on a lot of different factors. Where you carry your weight, how long you've been MO, your age, your genetics, how much you exercise, etc.  I have lost a little over 130 pounds and the skin is not bad at all.  I am 31 and haven't had any pregnancies but been heavy my whole life.  The only thing that I really don't like on me right now is my arms. (Well, my ass and thighs are not great but they were the same before so I dont blame that on the weight loss!)  I have about 40 pounds to go so I will probably have more skin after these last pounds come off but I am running and lifting weights to try and replace some of the fat with muscle.  I don't wanna look like a completely deflated balloon.

Skin issues comes with being so heavy and losing so much.  But for me, its way better than being 360 pounds!! Good luck!! :-)

I won't lie. I have a ton of loose skin already and I'm not even to goal. I don't like it, but I can disguise it a whole lot better than the 140+ pounds of fat that was previously occupying it! I've started to save my pennies for plastics if I want to have that option down the road.

Yep. You will most likely have loose skin. From personal observation, I'd say 80% of us have enough to warrant plastic surgery. I had a ton of it. Mentally I could not handle the skin and had to find a way to pay for plastics. My boyfriend has known me over 20 years. He loved me as is, but in the intimacy department, it definitely held me back. All that skin flopping around was NOT attractive.

I am a single mom of 2 living on a modest teacher salary. I have paid for 2 very expensive international adoptions and a ton of plastics. Where there is a will, there is a way.

I have a lot of lose skin and I'm about half way to goal and have lost around 150. I literally have a butt flap, in addition to bat wings and a huge pannus that hangs down past my knees. My boobs are like tube socks with an orange in them. But you know what...all the loose skin is so much better than being fat. I'd rather be deflated.

Yup - I'm a little over halfway to goal and I look like a Shar-Pei from the waist down. My boobs pretty much get rolled into my bra, and I just hope the nipples are pointed in vaguely the right direction. I'm definitely going to need surgery after. Some of it is covered under medical, some isn't, but I'm going to NEED it.

Lmao. Pointed in the right direction. I have noticed lately that when I work out and get sweaty I start sounding like a one man slap band. Couldn't figure out where the clapping was coming from at first
