Monday Weigh In
Happy Monday everyone!
LW - 275.6
TW - 267.0
- 8.6 lbs
My loss this week has been startling. Don't get me wrong.... I'm not complaining because it's a great loss... but it seems like an awful lot for a week!! I'm over 3 months out for crying out loud. The 19th (one week ago) was the very end of a week long "stall" or whatever you want to call it... and then BAM these past 7 days have been crazy. I don't think I've had a loss this big before... even when I was on liquids?
Has anyone else had a loss like this so far out from surgery? Weird....

Wow, Congratulations on that great loss! Mine is more modest, but as long as the change is in the right direction, I'll take it.
Last week: 266
This week 265
I just realized that my worst stalls correlate with high temperature. I think I get dehydrated and then my body holds on to fluids for a while. I was out walking in the sun yesterday, so I expected a little gain from my low mid-week.
Have a good week, everyone.

Had to be some fluid drop or something, Nikke, in addition to WL from your stellar efforts. I notice fluid retention these days when my watch or rings fit more tightly, stuff like that. The most I've ever lost in a week was five pounds, which has happened several times.
You're probably right! It's got to be a combination of things. I mean, I had been stalled for a week.... but about a week ago I went from drinking 75-80 oz of water a day to probably 100-110 oz. Maybe that made the difference? It was a freakish week, especially considering the exercise was limited!
Congrats on your weeK! :)

Nikke! Girl, you are just killin it! I remember that we started on OH about the same time and you always had the right attitude. It really does prove that attitude is so much of this whole process. At a group meeting last week the coordinator said that he could pretty much tell which people would be successful long term and which wouldn't with how they act and their attitude. I can't believe how close you are now to 200 lbs lost!!! SO excited for you!
Two weeks ago: 243.2
Today: 238
- 5.2 pounds in two weeks
Not too bad, considering I really didn't lose anything at all last week. I was still a bit down in the dumps and the thought of exercising and putting effort into planning my meals felt like WAY too much. But this past week, I buckled down, survived those first few days of carb withdrawal and am back, baby! :-) My husband decided he wanted to get rid of his small belly so he started low carb with me last week too. He isn't perfect with it but he is trying and has already lost some weight.
I hope everyone has a great week!

I'll take it! I had a lot of drama going on this week and it definitely triggered old stress eating urges that had been dormant since surgery. I was definitely guilty of emotional eating, but it was a protein bar instead of a bag of chips or a pint of ice cream, so I guess that's a victory of sorts. I'm working with my therapist on the bigger issues. Have a great week, everyone!
Happy Monday to everyone!
This is my first time posting on the Monday weight loss thread. I'm a little nervous putting my numbers out there b/c for a long time, I was so ashamed. Thankfully, I'm finally breaking free from that.
I don't know for sure what the initial's "LW" and "TW" stand for. I'm guessing "lowest weight" and "today's weight"? What do you write if today is your lowest weight?
Here are my basic stats:
Highest weight was 498 on 11/1/12.
Surgery weight was 473 on 11/13/12.
7/25/13 weight was 304.
Today's weight is 281. (I only weigh myself once a month to maintain my sanity.)
I'm so thankful for the surgery and my improving health. I feel amazing.
Everyone on this board has inspired and encouraged me whether you know it or not. Thank you!! -Kim
