When did your weight loss slow down?
Hi all,
I am a 3 months out from surgery and my weight loss is starting to slow. I've been averaging 18 pounds per month ( including the three months before surgery), and this month I only lost 14 pounds. I am hoping this is a blip, and doesn't mean my weight loss if slowing already.
I had over 200 pounds to lose and I'm down about 110. So I am curious. If your weight loss is slowing down, when did it start, and how drastic was it? Any suggestions on maximizing the loss? I'm sticking to my plan keeping my calories around 800 per day and carbs under 20 most of the time. I exercise daily for 20 to 30 minutes.
thanks,
Carol

thanks, I was hoping the good weight loss would last a little longer, but I guess that wasn't too realistic. But this is a marathon and not a sprint! as they say.
best wishes,

Carol, you are doing fantastically well! My best advice would be to stick with what you're doing and make sure you're getting your fluids. As has already been mentioned it does slow down compared with the first couple of months.
My stats:
month 1 27
month 2 18
month 3 16
month 4 12
month 5 13
month 6 13
month 7 15
month 8 13
month 9 11 so far, nine days to go before end of my month
This is on about 700 cal/day, 100+g of protein/day, under 30g carbs/day, about 20g fat/day. I'm 55yo. Exercise varies.
Thanks, Nancy.
You are doing really well, too. Great job. Thanks for the encouragement.

you really can count what you lost the first month you did not eat much that month, most heavy weights lose 1/2 to 1 lb a day which is what you are doing it will come off , but there is less of you to feed so it slows down , you could up you exercise to counter the smaller you
your doing great
thanks, I think you are right - Exercising has always been a challenge for me, but if I want this enough, I'll just do it!
thanks for the encouragement.

Hey - I just posted almost the same message, just today, about my weight loss slowing down. How is it going for you now? I had my surgery on June 5th/13. I lost 20 on opti and I am now hovering around 85 pounds lost. But I was on a stall that lasted almost four weeks around the end of August and since then I have lost about ten pounds - in six weeks. Every pound is a miracle. A little scared that the losses may get smaller...
