Hello!
Congrats on your decision to take control of your health!! My highest recorded weight was 339 (my actual highest was probably higher but I refused to get on a scale for years). I had RNY almost 5 years ago. I am so thankful everyday for getting my life back.
Just be aware that even though the DS has the best long-term stats, it is still possible to regain weight even with the DS and that any weight loss surgery is just a tool. We must make lifestyle changes to ensure our long-term success.
Best wishes on your journey!!

Laura! You're one of my favorite posters! Always to the point. :D We also have the same surgeon.
Yeah, I'm very aware of the statistics. I actually didn't really buy into the hype that some push saying that DSers don't regain. I've seen too many people posting about regain on various DS-related message boards to claim that, haha. That is very true that all weight loss surgeries are tools and it's all about working them by changing our lifestyles. :)
lol.... thanks. I like it when people appreciate my thoughts.
Ahhhhh.... I did not notice you are also in Houston. We should do lunch sometime. Do you go to the support group meetings at the Davis Clinic?? I have gone sporadically. I see that Dr. Davis is speaking this month so I may go. I love him!!
