Excess skin?
Im just starting out on my journey.
Looks like I will be having my operation in Oct, we are still discussing RNY or VSG.
But I am thinking down the line, what is my body gonna look like?
I know it may sound vain, but I dont wanna have such a huge operation, make all this insane changes ( all for the better of me )
and have tonne of saggy skin.
I have seen ppl have plastic's in Mexico, how to you go about getting info into it. How much does it cost?
I know Im thinking 24-30 mths.. but im planning.. and probably gonna be saving..
sorry to say but almost everyone our size needs plastic surgery ,
If you have insurance start having your pcp document every time you get a rash an infection , irritation, if it makes it hard to walk ECT.
if you can prove medical necessity some plastics might be covered
I'm having a vsg in a few weeks my surgeon feels it is safer for very high bmi patients , he had 1 patient that started over 800 lbs and lost most of his weight with vsg and sticking strictly to his plan
I know many people that did great with rny but I know a few that had problems with it , only meet 1 person that had problems with vsg but they had major health problems that complicated the sleeve , you have time to research both operations and the ds and make a good decision, talk with your surgeon and see what he suggests , if you trust him go with what he says if not find a different one
I ended up with less skin than I thought. I have floppy arms but I don't care. My stomach looks okay. I thought I would have a huge pannus but it's pretty small.
Maybe I am looking yhrough rose colored glasses but I feel fine with the way I look, and I have lost 140 pounds and 8 dress sizes.
I fight badgers with spoons.

My work insurance won't cover plastics, and I'm in Canada, so the government will only cover it if its a life threating skin infections.
i know I will have wings and I don't want horrible ones. Most of my weight is in my ass, hips and thighs. I don't think my stomach will be horrible. So what is this I see on a lot of pols profiles. Body by dr ( I can't remember the name) Mexico guy? Looks like I will have a plastics fund not a saving for a mortgage ..
oh well
Hi!
I'm in Toronto, working with Hrrh in this journey. My team said unless its life threating infection I would have it removed and if they do remove it, it's not done reconstructive surgrey.
Im looking at Dr Sauceda in Mexico. Seems to be very sucessful
I agree with the other response. The overwhelming majority of us here will have enough excess skin to warrant plastic surgery. Many learn to live with it, but that was not me. It messed with my mental health. I had to find a way to have it removed, which I did. I have had brachioplasty, a lower body lift, and a breast lift. I would love breaast implants and a thigh lift, but I am content "as-is" and will probably not do either. I am finally at peace with myself, which is such a nice feeling!!
Good luck in your journey!!

Yeah.. I can imagine it will mess with mine. I'm figuring I will be at goal weight in 2 yrs and being stable for a couple months also.. So im just gonna go to my works credit union and start having them deduct $$ off my cheque and put it into a saving account for me now. If I don't have enough when it's time maybe a line of credit to top it off. But I'm sure I should be able to get half of what I need for it. I think I will probably wanna go with what you got gone..
How was the healing time? Did you have to have multiple surgerys?
