Feeling like I fit in
At 340 pounds and wearing a size 30/32W, it was hard to feel like I fit in anywhere. I stuck out like a sore thumb and was always the largest person by far anywhere I went. Now I can go out with my girlfriends and feel like I belong. I'll admit I always hated being the "fat friend". I always just wanted to blend in. Now I do.
Here are my girlfriends and I last night celebrating my friend's 40th birthday. It was a fun night (I am on the left in the green shirt).

I get wanting to fit in. I feel I am finally not being noticed for being SMO. It's great to blend in! Or if I stand out it's for a good resson like my curly hair or infectious laugh.

I've been told my laugh is infectious, too. I think it's really obnoxious and they're just being nice...lol.

I commented on your blog post but wanted to say again congrats cus I know how wonderful that feeling is. When I lost weight in my teens and I was finally around the same size as my friends, I felt so confident and felt like I really belonged. Hopefully, I can feel that again soon. I am already starting to feel way more comfortable than I did 90 pounds ago but I still have a ways to go. You look amazing!!

You will feel that way again!! Keep up the great work. The mental part is the hardest. I'm almost 5 years out and just now starting to feel comfortable in my own skin.

That's amazing and inspiring. Infact, you are one of the smaller people in the photo now (no offense to any of your girlfriends!!).
I realize my place in the hierarchy of my friendships as well. At over 350, I'm not invited to summer events, bbq's, parties, etc. I'm the friend that is asked to go to "lunch/dinner" with. I'm the one that asked to come over and help my friends pick out their outfits for when THEY go to the parties. It's not great. It's not living, for sure.
You look amazing and I love the clothing that you wear too. Funny how when people are overweight they can't really express themselves through clothing because there is not much to choose from!
Katherine :)
