2nd NUT Appt & more testing
Well, I had my second NUT appointment today and it went great!! I have lost 9.6 more lbs - woo hoo!!! 23 lbs lost in these first 2 months on the supervised diet. I have completed the surgeon's requirement to lose 10lbs prior to surgery, so I have to keep it up and now have 4 more months of the supervised diet and everything can be submitted for approval.
While I was waiting for my appt., my patient advocate called and said that my surgeon had looked at the Upper GI and saw something she did not like and now I have to have the camera stuck down my throat, EGD. Yea for me!! Not too excited about this but have to have it done. Hopefully nothing is wrong and better to be safe than sorry.
Everybody have a great day!!
Congrats on doing so well on the Pre-Op diet- that's the hardest part!
Just make sure they knock you out for the EGD, I wasn't totally out and it was HORRID!
Keep workin' it!

congrats on the weight loss and hope the endoscope goes good
I am doing my prep for my endoscope and colonoscopy as we speak the test is tomorrow afternoon , no food for me and at 6pm i have to drink 1 gal of laxative fun right , my surgeon does an endoscope on all patients and a few months ago my pcp said I should have a colonoscopy ,I never had one, so I said that I will wait and have both done at the same time
my hubby had both and said it was nothing , the worst part is the prep and the farting after the test (colonoscopy )
surprised you surgeon only wants you to loss 10 lb mine wants 50 lbs (12%), most want 10%, gives them more room to work inside and shrinks the liver , we all have fatty livers most people in north America do
enjoy the test , and get copies of the pictures
So, what is the prep for the endoscope? I had a total hysterectomy 2 years ago and had to drink some nasty stuff they made me live in the bathroom for 1/2 the day plus an enema 😳
Hi there....I am fairly new to this site but have been lurking for 2months reading all sorts of info.....I hope to have surgery the end of June....I had an endoscope a few years ago when I was looking at lap-band(which I luckily didn't get) if I remember correctly I don't think there was a prep....just nothing to eat our drink night before....and hopefully there will be good drugs so you don't feel or remember anything....my preop testing involved a stress test, upper GI, and a sleep study test.....good luck!
Congrats, you're doing great!
