What would u do different
I would have been nicer! I was a mean mean lady the day after surgery. Can I say I would have done it sooner?! lol...I think I defiantly would have done more exercise earlier out. I would have tried to relax more and not stress so much about the weight loss. If you do what you are supposed to the weight will come off. I also went back to work after two weeks. I would have took the four weeks If I could have. My brain wasn't back at two weeks.
I would have started therapy much much sooner. And i would have waited longer before introducing carbs back into my diet (which started about 9 mo post op).

If I could go back in time i would have never let myself become obese in the first place. As far as my weight loss surgery journey goes, there is nothing I would do differently. I have followed the rules and have done well. No complications and no regrets. I am proud of myself.

I wouldn't do anything differently. You are going to get many different answers to the same questions on this board. Follow your surgeons directions. You will be able to eat again. 2 weeks of liquid diet is tough, but so is this choice. The "Honeymoon" period where the weight falls off is great, but you will have to watch what you eat once that is gone. I had RNY and no significant complications. It is hands down the best thing I have ever done with my life. Post-op, I also wouldn't change anything. Move, move, move.....exercise is key. It is easy to get caught up in ONLY the losing weight aspect of this, but this is about your health too. You dont have to go crazy, but exercise is good for your health. Best of luck with your journey!!!! Will be thinking of you on the 20th.

Haven't had my surgery yet, but I expect a date fairly soon - I've been signed off on by all the support people, lost 75 lbs on my own, been seeing a therapist for years now, and I've lucked into what may be the most comprehensive & thorough surgical program anywhere! Assuming all is ok with the other doctors I have to see still, I'm ready to go!
I feel for everyone who has to do a liquid diet - our program stopped them a while ago - we now get a personalized 2 week diet that is high protein & low carb so that we can enjoy real food while we use up our glycogen stores did my diet test yesterday!
Hi Dr.
I would have not touched carbs for at least a year. I woke the carb monster up at Christmas time (7 months post-op) when I baked and it has reared it's ugly head over and over again.
After surgery I had no desire for that type of thing....my taste buds changed due to the surgery. Unfortunately, that is no longer true.I am back to hating SF again.
I still love my sleeve tho. So far, I have never gained an ounce. I do have long periods of no weight loss tho. But again no gain. That sleeve has forced me to really curtail my intake.
You are going to love your sleeve.
Best,
Sharon
