another step closer!
got a call from the dietician's office asking if I could come in early (orig appt was May 13) because of a cancellation. She recognized my name from the courses I took with her and knew I was ahead of the game & wanted to encourage that...
So, of course I went in, and in addition to the minor tweaking she wants me to do, she gave me my pre-op diet! (apparently that rarely happens on the first one-on-one)
(our program has eliminated the two week liquid diet pre-surgery - instead we get a two week 1200 cal diet based on her guidelines for macronutrients and our personal preferences.End result is the same - liver shrinkage through glycogen depletion), but we feel less deprived and are more compliant with the post-surgical liquid diet)
so, I now have a followup appt on the day my appt was scheduled, and if she's happy with my progress, she'll put my name forward as being ready! By then I'll have had my mental health assessment, & initial consult w/ surgeon, and hopefully the exercise physiologist will be ready to pass me as well!
if all goes well, I could have the surgery early this summer!
(our process is quite unique - the support team will be presenting about it at the Canadian Obesity Conference here in Vancouver next month)
