So close, I can almost taste it.
I was thrilled to be close to 300lbs!!!! There is a say that comparison is the thief of joy...and wow have I found it to be true. I havent lost as much as other people who have my surgery date. I bounce around from 165-175 (ugh, yep 10 lbs) and there are plenty of people that are the same body size as me who are 140-150's. But you know, while I would like to see the 150's I am not going to kill myself to get there. I am really happy where I am. It wil come off if you work your plan...it just may take a little longer than others, but one day you look back at your log/journal and are amazed at where you have ended up. :-) I am almost 2 years out (I can't believe it!) and I am thankful everyday for my surgery. Dont stay away from here because you feel badly about how you are doing....this is THE place to come. :-) Its been a while since I have posted, but I lurk on a regular basis. :-)
I *completely* understand! Last summer at my first weigh in with the program I was 300.2. I remember my mom telling the nurse that if my appointment had been before breakfast I would have been under :) I'm still pre surgery and regained my hard work but I know I'll be just as excited to see it come again :)
YAY Rayah!!
I was so excited to see a 2 on the scale in front of my weight... its been over 2 years since I have seen that! Its so hard not to compare but try not to. There is always someone who is going to lose faster than you and then there is always someone who will lose slower. I stopped going to the VSG board for awhile because it was discouraging me; I was second guessing my plan that my doctor and I created for ME and I was starting to think I needed to change so I could be like them. But I'm so glad I didn't. I may not be the faster loser but I am happy with where I am and I'm not killing myself to do it. Keeping your carbs to under 20 grams (which really excludes so many foods, even veggies) or fasting for days seems completely silly to me. Keep doing what you're doing and you WILL get there. And 12 pounds in a month may seem slow compared to some people here but that's 3 pounds a week! That's awesome! If you lost 3 pounds a week for a year, you would be down 156 pounds in one year! That's nothing to sneeze at!
Let us know when you get past that 300 mark and we'll celebrate with you. Keep up the great work, girlie!!
KittyKarin :-) Starting weight: 362 / Surgery weight: 353 / Current weight: 190 (03/27/2017)
I love reading your progress when I do have the guts to come on here and I'm so excited for you!
As we like to say in Hawai'i,
'Oihana maika'i no!
I know exactly how you feel. When I saw 300 and then 299 on the scale, I was in shock. I couldn't believe it. I don't even remember the last time I had been under 300 lbs. More than 3 years ago since when I got married in 2010 I was 350. And it did take a long time to get packed on so taking it off won't be a cakewalk either. But we have each other to motivate, to give kicks in the butt and tough love. Here's to your next pound! :-)
