Blastocystis Hominis
Yep, got confirmation today that on my great trip to Cuba, I brought back a friend! Its name is Blastocystis Hominis! A fairly common parasite that people generally do not react to, but seems like I do, badly! Antibiotics for 7 days, starting tomorrow! Have to admit I am scared. It is rather hard on the stomach, so the pharmacist said! I will continue taking my PPIs just in case I think.

Thank goodness they are treating this annoying problem. To lessen the effects of the antibiotic you may want to consider taking a probiotic. Antibiotics kill the good flora as well as the bad. Probiotics will counter-act this. Do not take the meds at the same time if you decide to take them.
