It's the small things.....

You gotta fake it till you make it. Reading over your latest posts, you are still trying to get approved for surgery. I know in Canada that is a whole different process. Just do what you have to do to get the surgery. Baby steps. After surgery it will be easier for you to manage your health, but you HAVE to get to that point. Find the strength to do so. You can do it!!

Im so sorry you are struggling. I am kind of in the same boat and been struggling for a while - even as a post op, we have to deal with these issues.

I really love your attitude about increasing your steps - you are focusing on the positive - that's a great start.

Maybe each week - just focus on one little change a time and build up. If you drink soda, and that's a down fall - maybe cut back, and work on cutting out over time. And then if you find yourself eating certain things that you want to cut out - work on that. Whatever it is that you are struggling with - baby steps. This concept of getting back on track can kind of be overwhelming and too abstract. There's no one path, one track to get on, except to always be working towards the goal of being healthy.

Big huggg my friend. Keep up the good fight - as long as you keep trying, you are winning.

Thanks everyone.  Today is a better day but less steps. lol.  I appreciate all the positivity you bring to my life.  In Alison's note she commented on small steps.....the biggest accomplishment that I try to remind myself to be proud of is that back in April 2012 I quit soda cold turkey from nearly a gallon a day.  Despite all the junk I've put back in my diet, I am still soda free!

I set up my "diabetes kit" today.  New insulin in my pens, my tester, test strips all into a little makeup bag to toss in purse.

I called my doctor and have an appointment for Friday to set up bi-weekly weigh ins for accountability.

I need to be checking in at OH more often for the support I need.  Thanks for reminding me it's here.....I just need to ask for it!
