yet another "I'm still alive" post!
I really should participate more to avoid these posts, but it does get depressing watching so many people get their surgery before me
so, I still haven't seen the surgeon, but I did get good news - they've changed their program a bit - now instead of seeing the surgeon first, you attend an orientation session with all the paramedical staff first, and begin the pre-surgical program with them. Makes sense, as it quickly weeds out the people not interested in doing the hard work, without wasting the valuable consult time...
so, I called the office a few weeks ago to find out where I was on the list - the person I talked to explained the changes and started to explain about the other staff - I interrupted to say that I knew all but one of them, that I'd already done all the dietician's courses, that I'd been having sessions with the exercise physiologist/counsellor for months etc and that the dietician had joked that I'd set the record for fastest consult-to-surgery time in program history. She paused a moment and then said that she was going to bump me to the next orientation group!!!
so, I haven't had a call yet from them, but I expect it soon! I may still get my surgery by summer!
in the meantime, I'm still on my weight loss plan, and have now lost 65 lbs in just under 14 mos. Next time I get on a scale it should read below 300!

I know it totally sucks, but all the work and waiting you are doing now will really pay off once you get your surgery.
Fingers crossed it's late spring/early summer!!
