Blah, blah, blah...post op dr appt
I personally did not ever go back to my surgeons office after the first follow-up.I am not advocating that, but I lost my insurance right after the surgery and since i did not have the money at the time to do follow-ups, I never went back. I know that is a big no-no. But for me it has not been an issue. I have lost steadily and been able to get my knowledge from these forums.
We all lose at different rates. I was too sore after 2 weeks to work out. I waited a month and that worked for me. I really rested a lot for the first 4 weeks. Any loss is good. But, it is now when you will lose the most and easiest. Stay as close to 80 -100 gms of protein a day, drink at lest 64 oz of water per day and exercise. You will lose and you will lose quickly. Good Luck, Sharon
My surgeon is in Mexico so I don't have follow ups with him. I do however see my GP and she does all of my blood work every 3 months. I do 3 months because I still have low Vitamin D she is working on fixing. And everytime I go in no matter how much I've lost she tells me I'm doing great. She just wants to see the scale go down and she doesn't care how fast. I mean 129lbs in 6 months is nothing to sneeze at but even if it was just 5 lbs she's cheering me on. Find another doctor who will be supportive and not dismissive.
As pet the weight loss, everybody lose differetly. Some faster than others. Follow the plan. You just got the surgery 2 weeks ago? Geese you're still probably retaining water and swollen all over
Come here for encouragements!!! I know when I need some I come here. I often feel depressed from not losing fast enough and the people here put things intonperspective for me

It was ot directed to you but I am happy to read this. It is better to act now on something than wait until you feel the effects and then have to deal with wayyyy more! Isn't it what we have been doing all our lifes? Disregarding the weight issue? Well I don't know for you, but the first time I really looked at the problem, and I mean REALLY LOOK at it, was when I decided it was time for surgery. Maybe if I embraced the problem when I had 30 pounds in excess, MAYBE today I wouldn't be where I am now! But again, everybody is different so no judgements here! I did the same think when I had thyroid problems, or when I had gallbladder problems, I refused to act on it until it got ugly. Do not want to be in this pattern anymore, I want to work on it now
Love
Karine.
I only lost 10 lbs by my 1st post op appt & my dr didn't act one way or the other. Kinda disappointed me too...Yeah, I was hoping to be one of those that "dropped 20 lbs in a day" (only being slightly sarcastic), but obviously that isn't me. My husband told me to stay off the scale...That's so hard because I've waited & worked so hard, I want some instant gratification results, dammit! LOL. I'm 3 1/2 weeks out & lost 17lbs...
