What kind of surgery did you have or having??? And which foods can you no longer tolerate?
We don't drink milk often around here. I have this whole belief system around milk and it's use. I have had a bit here and there in other things and I seem to be fine with it.
Pork chops are out. I can do bacon and crockpot if it's cooked to within an inch of it's life. LOL. Ham is touch and go. I was never a huge pork fan so it's no big loss.
Steak and tougher cuts of beef were hard for the first several months. Now, it's no big deal BUT it has to be lean. If it's so you cannot chew it really well then it sits like a rock in my stomach.
Bread, rice, pasta, those seem to swell in my stomach or something because they sit like a rock so I generally avoid them. I do miss them, but they are also trigger foods for me so even if I can "one day" eat them, I don't test it often because I want to keep thinking I "can't" eat them. LOL

Since Gastric - by- pass 18 months ago . I can,t eat greasy pork . Pork rib,s, Pork Chops, Chili, Steak, Breads. Rice make me sick. It does not go down. So if I eat. It just stay in my pouch, I have to throw up. So choose not to eat It. Ice cream I,m happy with only a bite or two. Any more make me sick. Just to sweet. I can drink sofa drink Milk and juices. But, I choose not because, of the calories. Chip are fine. The worst thing that can eat always seen down easy without a problem. The things that need to be eat always to cause touble . Meats, Raw Vegatable and fruit are harder to get down. Salads still give me trouble. So every has to be chopped up fine. Eggs were a big problem the first six months. I just could not get them down. You have to learn to cook with any grease, I can eat them fine now. Things still give me problem you can,t over eat.
When comes to losing weight you have make a choice about what are willing to give up to complete your goals in life. Just like without the surgery. But, If willing you can eat most anything after Surgery. You have to force yourself to stay in control and think before you put something in your mouth.
Pork does me in too. I can eat bacon but not pork chops or port roast, or pork tenderloin, or ham. If I eat it my stomach cramps up. I also notice if I eat foods that are fried or breaded it makes me belch like a frat house.
VSG 5/2012
I can tolerate ANYTHING. This is not a gift. I had problems with sugar at first but not anymore. I have to be reeeaaally careful.
Well I take that back the only thing that is tough is my multi vitamin, unless I take it with food. That is tricky because of the whole eating drinking thing with VSG. Looking for a new multi that does not nauseate me.
I had VSG and can eat pretty much anything besides lettuce & breads. I tried a very tiny-less than a pinky size-piece of bread a few months back and it hurt terribly so I haven't tried bread since. Lettuce made me cramp up and it really hurt, but strangely spinach leaves are fine. Also, Bob Evans makes these lil multigrain cranberry hotcakes I can eat one of those with no problem--weird. I haven't tried pasta or rice and don't plan to for a few years. I will be one year post op next month. I love popcorn, but I can eat the full 2.5 cups and I don't like that so I try not to eat it too often. I never really drank milk before unless for cereal purposes but I switched over to Almond milk before surgery and it still is fine....
