What time do YOU all go to bed

I never go to bed before at least 11pm.  But I know it is too late as by the end of the week, I am exhausted!  But I hate going to bed, I feel like I am waisting my time.  It has always been like that.  I have talked about it with my nuts, but can't get rid of this feeling of waisting my time.  I NEED alone time and this is the only part of the day I can get some.  You know when the kids are in bed, the husband goes to bed too, I could just sit there and not move not even watch TV.

WHAT TIME DO YOU GUYS GO TO BED????????????

ok, here we go...lol...Here's my thing...I never used to go to bed before 1am....I, like you, thought it was a complete waste of time, and I was never tired.  After a bit, I started to analyze why I thought it was a waste of time, why did I have this urge to stay up late, why did I feel like that why was I so stubborn not to go to bed before that....and the answer, after a while, came to me like a ton of brick.  Now you have to understand like I said, this is totally me, and maybe has nothing to do with you but it was an eye opener for me so I thought if I shared my experience and if anything comes close to you, then at least it will help a tad.

Because I could eat!!!  It took me a very long time to actually admit it to myself.  As I would make supper, I would actually plan what I'd be having until I went to bed.  Geez, no wonder I went up to 425....man oh man the things I did to myself.

No one was around, I didn't have anyone looking at me.  I was enjoying every second of it.  The brain is a powerful thing, it will let you believe anything you want.  I had a hard time taking breathes between bites but I needed my next fix.

After I realized this, knowing I was going to do this, I completely rearranged my thoughts.  Never did I ever believe anymore that going to bed was a waste of time.  Now, it's a healing and losing benefit.  I truly believe that going to bed early helped my loose this weight, without a glitch, without stalls.  For the first year or so, I was losing on average of 4lbs a week and now, about 2 a week but very close to goal and loving it.

I will never go to bed late again unless I have people over.  So my routine is I go to bed around 7:30 and I do whatever I want on my ipad, read, play games, chat, etc.  and usually I am passed out around 9:30 or 10ish.

So that's my story and I'm stickin' to it...lmao

Hope that it helps in any way and hope you had a great weekend!

Nathalie

I usually grab a shower at 8:30 and am in bed by 9. (I'd go earlier but my kid doesn't take a shower until 8 and I have to wait for her LOL). I read for an hour or so and then am asleep.

So, I get around 7-8 hours of sleep. We're up at 6:30 for school around here.

... and what she said about eating... I find myself reaching for "just a snack" sometimes if I'm up too late even now.

I also try to get in bed about 9pm.  If I am up, I eat.   It was hard for me to train myself to go to sleep at a "normal" time.  I worked nights for about 15 years. Now I work rotating shifts and luckily I am about to stop that.  I am naturally a  night person. I feel I am at my best from about 1pm to 4am.  I took me at least a year to get on a day schedule and I did have to use some Benadryl and melatonin to make it happen.  I hope you find a way to balance things out.  Being exhausted sucks.

Unfortunately, since moving to EST, I almost never go to bed before 11pm. I have trouble getting to bed before midnight.  Medically, it is just plain healthier to get more hours of sleep. My appetite is lower, my thinking is clearer, and my workouts are better when I go to bed early.

Lately, I've been going between 12-1.  I'm at my peak when I'm in bed by 10:30pm. No excuse.

Thank you all for your answers! This forum always brings me what I need, the answer I need.

Yesterday I did the test. I usually have my yogourt and raspberries before bed but yesterday I took the decision of having them in the morning so I wouldn't snack before bed and then I could go earlier. Thinking this would be a piece if cake an that Nathalie was so wrong about this. Well dhe was right. I had to have another yogourt and raspberries before bed. The thing is that it doesn't make me feel guilty as it is not chocolate or chips or junk as it used to be

Will have to stop binging ( oh yeahthat is what it is) after dinner and go to bed earlier

Some big work ahead

And sorry for the delay in answering but as you may have noticed by now I need time to think when the subject is involving some issues with me!!! But I always read and think about all of your answers and they are so much appreciated they all bring a little something to me

Love you all

Karine aka work in progress. Hahahah

So proud of you Karine...at least you are reflecting on your behaviors, takes a great person to do so, some don't bother to try and change the habits of the addiction part.

And you should be so proud, you are almost at the 100 loss mark...WOW

Hugs,

Nathalie

Hi Karine,

I have always been a morning person. I go to bed at 9 pm and usually am asleep by 9:15 pm.

I get up before 4:30 am. Usually 3:30-4:15 depending on the season. I sleep more in the summer. Isn't that weird?????? Currently, I need 6 hours since the weight loss. Before the weight loss I needed 8. Maybe it's the working out everyday or my age??? Who knows.....

Tonight I have a zumba at 7:30p. I will be home by 9p and asleep by 9:05. I am beat after zumba.

Hugs,

Sharon
